About
The chef gathering Devon onto a plate
Gather is chef-owner Harrison Brockington's restaurant — opened in 2019, and in April 2026 the reason a small Totnes dining room beat the country's grandest kitchens to the Roux Scholarship.

Harrison trained at the Michael Caines Academy and cooked across Devon before opening Gather with friends in 2019. The idea has never changed: dishes of genuine flair built on what Devon offers that week — locally sourced, wild foraged, from the fields, shoreline, rivers and hedgerows.
In April 2026 Harrison won the Roux Scholarship, the UK's most prestigious chef competition, judged at The Waterside Inn in Bray. It follows two AA Rosettes, Taste of the West Gold in 2025 and 2026, a place in the Trencherman's Guide, and a visit from Channel 4's “Remarkable Places to Eat”.
The room stays true to the name — cosy, warm and relaxed, with the kitchen visible through the hatch and a wine list chosen to walk alongside the menus, including bottles from Sharpham just down the river.
Roux Scholarship Winner 2026
